Organizations have started receiving some payments of U.S. international assistance funding. While more funds are urgently needed, this progress reflects the incredible impact of your advocacy. THANK YOU!
Your voice is still needed, however.
Thousands of foreign assistance programs remain terminated, and organizations haven’t received all payments promised to provide aid to our sisters and brothers in need. Many of these programs provide immediate, critical, lifesaving aid to our sisters and brothers facing hunger, religious persecution, conflict and other affronts to their human dignity.
The situation remains dire, however. As food distributions are halted, people are going hungry. Without treatment for acute malnutrition, children will die. Just one program terminated in Guatemala means that nearly 500,000 people will no longer receive the support they need to overcome the persistent hunger they once faced. Without the tools and seeds for planting crops this month, many Guatemalan children will fall back into malnutrition and fail to reach their God-given potential.
Please email your members of Congress, asking them to urge the administration to reverse all terminations of lifesaving and life-affirming humanitarian and development assistance until a thorough and transparent review of programs is conducted. Also, to disperse all Congressionally appropriated foreign assistance funds in a timely manner.
If you’ve already sent an email, please send another one today. Your voice is urgently needed so we can continue to work for a world where all people can reach their God-given potential.
Did you know? Research shows that constituents’ voices have significant influence on congressional members’ decision-making, especially when communications are personalized—like sharing a story or demonstrating the impact an issue will have in the district or state.
