Deadly wildfires in Chile have displaced thousands and threaten to cause continued destruction.

On February 2, wildfires raged through coastal cities in Chile, displacing thousands and killing at least 112 people. Anticipating further damage and loss of life, Chile’s President Gabriel Boric declared a state of emergency and called for two days of national mourning. According to early official reports, more than 300 people remain missing.
