Right now, families are fleeing their home countries in urgent need of safe refuge, food and emergency support.
Extremely vulnerable families in Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala are facing the compounding impact of multiple crises. COVID-19, recent hurricanes, drought and conflict have forced many families to return to dangerous situations they just left.
With a recent policy change in the U.S., needs have only increased for families fleeing Venezuela and seeking shelter in Guatemala and Mexico.
When you donate to Central American refugees, you help families—many with children—who are facing unimaginable hardship and multiple emergencies at once.
For migrants who have to flee for safe refuge and opportunity, your gift supports a network of 35 faith-based and local shelters from Guatemala to Mexico. There, extremely vulnerable families receive the relief of a safe, dignified place to sleep, rest, eat and bathe. They also benefit from psychological, legal, and medical counseling. Assistance is also provided if they are being returned to their home countries.
But some shelters are overcrowded and with limited resources to address the increased flow of families.
In their home countries, your gift helps provide urgent food and shelter, protect kids against trafficking, keeps children in school, and helps youth stay out of gangs in some of the toughest neighborhoods. The support helps create greater safety and opportunity so that families don't feel the urgency to flee their homes and countries.
Your prayers and support are urgently needed. Please give generously and donate to the migration crisis and help families in Central America and Haiti.
