Man from Sri Lanka holding container of food
COVID-19 has made it difficult for Amadu to run his business and earn a living. Thankfully he can feed his family with support from Catholic Relief Services’ Food for Education program in Sierra Leone, funded by the U.S. government.

Your voice is needed now to help our global family! Congress passed another continuing resolution to fund the government through Feb. 18. By not passing the 2022 federal budget, Congress risks losing the additional $4 billion proposed for poverty-reducing accounts.

Ask your member of Congress to speak with Congressional leadership to ensure the highest funding levels possible for international humanitarian assistance. It is critical that Congress maintains the funds allocated by the House and Senate, and it is now up to Congressional leadership as they negotiate the final bill.

Foreign aid is especially critical now as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and conflict push millions of people into poverty. Families who once had the means to farm and earn a living are going without food. Refugees and families on the move are living in crowded settlements with little access to clean water and soap, space to social distance and other basic needs.

As a country and a society of global solidarity, we can lead in responding to the needs of our sisters and brothers and prevent further devastation around the world.

Now is the time to let your voice be heard. Take action today and change lives!
