Let your voice be heard on global hunger! Tell your U.S. senators you care deeply about our global family members facing food insecurity.

Food for Peace is an international hunger-reducing program in the Farm Bill that provides lifesaving food aid during emergencies. In addition, its long-term development programs address the root causes of hunger and help communities lift themselves out of poverty.

But Food for Peace programs that prevent hunger are in jeopardy.

➡️A recent Farm Bill proposal by the Senate Agriculture Committee’s ranking member includes elements of a bill called the American Farmers Feed the World Act. Provisions in the AFFWA could make Food for Peace long-term development programs inoperable and could reach 2.3 million fewer people with support.

➡️While the Senate Agriculture Committee chair’s proposal does not currently include the AFFWA, there is still a risk that it could get added in as the Farm Bill legislative process continues to unfold.

➡️In addition, the House Farm Bill includes elements of the AFFWA. ⚠️That’s why it is even more critical to act now!

Tell your senators to oppose the inclusion of the American Farmers Feed the World Act in the Farm Bill and protect international hunger-reducing programs.

This is a key moment to act. Legislative action on the Farm Bill may move quickly in the coming weeks. By lifting your voice at this crucial time, you can make a big difference for our sisters and brothers who are facing severe hunger.
